ESOS IQ POLICY

Acceptable Use Policy

Rules that protect official-source integrity, users, governed work and fair plan limits.

Last updated 28 August 2026

1. Permitted use

  • Lawful professional research using the features and quotas of the active plan.
  • Source-informed exports and internal analysis that retain attribution and evidence limitations.
  • Reasonable verification against official records and direct enquiries to relevant organisations.

2. Prohibited extraction and evasion

  • Scraping, systematic extraction, sequential enumeration or reconstructing the full governed corpus.
  • Creating duplicate accounts or identities to evade record, search, export or rate limits.
  • Reselling access, sharing credentials, republishing the structured database or building a competing reconstruction.
  • Circumventing authentication, row-level security, workspace isolation, custody, audit or other security controls.

3. Misrepresentation and unlawful use

  • Do not claim that a declaration proves verified compliance, commercial intent, budget, procurement, implementation or project value.
  • Do not remove source context, conceal anomalies or present ESOS IQ interpretation as an official government statement.
  • Do not use the service for unlawful direct marketing, discrimination, malware, harassment, fraud or infringement.

4. Restrictions and appeals

Automated signals may impose a temporary safe restriction. Material suspensions, contested signals and appeals receive human review; a restriction does not silently delete retained work.
